BTCW FORTHCOMING SHOWS
18/03/12 OPEN SHOW - Judge - ALAN LLEWELLYN "BULLYPINS"

Croeso, welcome, Blwyddyn Newydd Dda, Happy New Year to you all.

Another year has gone by and I must say that it was refreshing to see some new exhibitors at our 3 shows last year. I know that the number of dogs shown were slightly down on the previous year, however, we were encouraged by the support especially the ringside viewers which was up.

I was impressed with some of the younger dogs on show and this reflected in the results and placing. Well done to our Judges of last year and I am already looking forward to this year’s shows to see what comes along this time.

It will be interesting to see how we will be affected by the recession this year; I believe that exhibitors will look to their purse as they count the pennies. The overall cost of motoring has not helped and the downturn in the economy has had a damaging effect on us all. I often wonder how the other club and societies are faring; a good guide will be at Builth in the summer when the Welsh Show is on. It is my intention to visit this year to find out if there is a trend. This show is about all livestock, horses, and pigeons, you name it it is being exhibited. I will let you know in a later newsletter.

Well folks that is about it for this time. If you would like a copy of this Newsletter or any other information I can help you with, you can contact me if you wish by phone 07769929148 or e-mail: konbull@gmail.com.  I look forward to seeing you all at our forthcoming shows.

BULL TERRIER CLUB OF WALES NEWS LETTER JANUARY 2011

Croeso, Welcome, and a Happy New Year to you all. The website has been updated, with show results, critiques and photographs being placed in the show results section. The shows of last year were a great success and well supported, considering the financial constraints applied to everyone.  For those of you have read the Bull Terrier Monthly, Paul Johnstone is keeping track of entries, it would seem to suggest that numbers are decreasing, but here at the BTCW we are still holding our own and we are grateful to all our supporters and exhibitors, a huge thank you. Why not download a free copy of the BTM magazine, click on the link on our Homepage. You will enjoy the read and with a bit of luck go on to subscribe to it.

My next topic focuses on our forthcoming Championship Show on 27th March,  I have great pleasure in announcing that the Judge for that show is our very own Marilyn Bishop. Marilyn has been a club member since the 70’s and has been on the committee wearing different hats throughout her long service. This will be Marilyn’s first ticket show in the UK and I hope you will find it in your heart to come out and support Marilyn on her deserved appointment. She wont mind me saying this, but her wealth of experience judging abroad and here in the UK and her knowledge of our fond breed aptly supported by her loving husband Kelvin, will make this a great and memorable occasion for her.

Well folks that’s about it for this time, if you would like a copy of this Newsletter or any other information I can help you with, you can contact me if you wish by phone 01269 841789 or e-mail: konbull@googlemail.com.  I look forward to seeing you all at our forthcoming shows.
